Being the sister, aunty, daughter-in-law and sister-in-law of the biggest NY Giants fans in History, I know a little about football, but by no means am I a fan…. Basketball is more my thing (Go Cavs and Celtics)…. anyways, as I was having my morning coffee today, I caught a glimpse of the news… Poor Michael Vick; yes, I know that he committed a very horrible crime and I also know that numerous dogs died as a result, however, this is a man that has served his time and paid his debt to society.. He has been tried, convicted, imprisoned and now released. Let him get on with his life already!!!! Let him use his talent to become a productive citizen in society and give back to the community.
I will let all of you in on a secret; my husband is presently incarcerated and I make dua everyday (several times a day) that the people he will encounter and future employers will not judge him for the mistakes of his past. My husband has used his time to better himself and his mistakes do not define him as a man….. He is a striving servant of Allah, he is an Asst. Imam, A wonderful father, husband, brother and son, he is a GED tutor and so many other good things……. Allah is most merciful and most forgiving and I am sure that ALL OF US (anyone who is HUMAN) has made a mistake, has a skeleton in their closet, is ashamed of something they may have done…. How can we not be forgiving of each other (Humanity) and expect for Allah to forgive us??????????????????? Some food for thought…..
